MPOA Committee Job Descriptions

President

Duties include planning committee meetings, assigning duties to committees, decisions on all convention details, ensuring the convention runs smoothly, introducing speakers at the convention.

Vice-President

Duties include helping President, attending all committee meetings, and eventually taking over for the President.

Secretary

Duties include taking minutes at all committee meetings, distributing minutes to all members of the committee. Must attend all committee meetings.

Treasurer

Duties include keeping track of all committee expenses, balancing MPOA books, and writing cheques for convention related expenses.

Continuing Education Rep(s)

Duties include finding speakers for convention, assisting speakers with details as required, ensuring topics meet criteria set out by committee.

Accommodation

Continuing Education and the AGM will be held at The Fairmont Winnipeg. Hotel rooms are available under the group name "Manitoba Association of Optometrists". (See Registration Form or contact MAO for information on room rates and booking deadlines).

Continuing Education & AGM

Continuing Education and the Annual General Meeting will be held in Lombard Room on the Concourse Level of The Fairmont.

CPR will be held in the Wellington Ballroom on the Lobby Level (main floor) of The Fairmont, and will run concurrently with Sunday morning CE.

Meals & Hospitality

Breakfasts and lunches are complimentary for CE attendees.

Joint Luncheon

The Joint Luncheon with the Optometrists will be held in the East/Midway Ballroom of The Fairmont.
